Canine & Feline Surgical Extractions


This is an intermediate-level course designed for veterinarians that have at least two years of clinical experience in veterinary dentistry. The course will offer two hours of lecture and six hours of wet lab. Half of the day will be devoted to extractions in the dog and the other half to extractions in the cat. This course will cover the most common complications associated with surgical extractions with an emphasis on prevention and treatments. The following topics will be covered:

  • Dental radiography
  • Breed associated differences in anatomy
  • Surgical extractions of retained tooth roots, Surgical extractions of teeth with tooth resorption
  • Full quadrant extractions
  • Oronasal fistula repair
  • Oral mass biopsy techniques
