Session Description
Open to DVMs, Credentialed Vet Technicians, and Veterinary Assistants
8 hrs of CE: 8:00 am EST – 5:00 pm EST
We have partnered with Dan Boruta, DVM, DACVAA to offer a full day of education and training in veterinary anesthesia focused on the unique challenges of veterinary dentistry. Dr. Boruta is a board-certified veterinary anesthesiologist that has spent the last decade working in both academic and private practice settings. He provides anesthesia services at veterinary practices in eastern North Carolina and South Carolina.
This educational experience is designed for veterinary technicians because veterinary anesthesia for the dental patient is a team sport. We will cover the following topics:
- Dental Nerve Blocks (wet lab portion)
- Breed Specific Problems in Anesthesia
- Update on Brachycephalic Anesthesia
- Use of CRIs and partial IV anesthesia
- Use of mechanical ventilation
- Capnography
- Clinical pearls
- Alfaxolone vs Propofol
- Use of checklists for increased patient safety
Cost: $450 per person or $650 per hospital team | Lunch included
There is a discounted price if two employees attend from the same hospital.
The session is limited to a total of 20 participants and up to 2 employees per hospital.
