Kristin Callis
Veterinary Dental Clinic of North Carolina
Kristin is a native of Upstate New York and now calls the North Carolina Sandhills home. She graduated from St Lawrence University in Canton NY with a Bachelors of Science in 2003 and started working as a veterinary assistant in a premier equine veterinary facility in Connecticut. Her love of horses brought her to the Southern Pines NC area where she decided to pursue her Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology in 2008-2010. While in school, she fell in love with small animal dentistry and anesthesia and sought out positions in small animal general practice in these two areas. In 2021, she started her application for the VTS in Dentistry and recently submitted her application and hopes to sit for both exams later in 2023 to become a VTS. She joined Dr. Hoover and his team at the Veterinary Dental Clinic of North Carolina in October of 2021, which has been instrumental in her pursuit of the VTS title.

Kristin currently lives on a small farm in Moore County with her husband Allen and daughter Sydney. She also has 2 horses, 18 chickens, 5 cats and one dog. In her free time, she loves trail riding and working in her yard. She is very passionate about sea turtle conservation and served on the Emerald Isle Sea Turtle Patrol for many years. She is also active with a local feline rescue and assists in trapping and sterilizing feral cats.

Kristin has always loved training fellow associates and has become an instructor and speaker for the Veterinary Dental Clinic of NC Educational Center. She hopes to educate veterinary professionals in all aspects of veterinary dentistry and that once you learn the fundamentals it is actually really FUN!
